House Monitor – (IMMEDIATE OPENING)

A House Monitor is expected to spend time in the common areas of the house interacting with the residents, assisting residents with daily living responsibilities (i.e. meal preparation, chores, time management and conflict resolution skills). The house monitor is responsible for enforcing the house rules, setting limits and consequences and notifying the case manager of rule violations.

Licensed Therapist (Medi-Cal Program) 

Working within the vision, core values and commitment of Bill Wilson Center, and under the general supervision of the Director of Mental Health Services, this position is responsible for providing service coordination (case management), service plans, individual and family therapy, provides activities that assist youth in improving, maintaining or restoring functional skills, assists and supports youth in accessing needed services including vocational, medical, social and other community services, and assists youth in obtaining / maintaining living arrangements. This position manages activities to meet key Medi-Cal performance results, monitors data reliability of required reports to determine compliance, participates in meetings, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Mental Health Services.

Residential Counselor (IMMEDIATE OPENING)

The Residential Counselor cares for youth housed in Quetzal House or the Residential Shelter by performing the following duties. Some awake overnight and weekend coverage may be required.

Assist in screening, evaluation and orientation of homeless youth.  Handle crisis phone calls and occasional walk-in crisis situations.  Provide individual and group counseling to residents.
  Complete weekly and monthly program reports.  Maintain and dispense appropriate medications.  Input client data into computer system.  Oversee AFDC applications for client funding.  Prepare youth each morning and ensure youth are dressed, fed and ready for school or other activity.  Gives instructions to youth regarding desirable health and personal habits.  Plans and leads recreational activities and participates or instructs youth games.  Discipline youth and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior.  Escort youth to designated activities.

Relief Residential Counselor
Runaway and Homeless Youth Shelter

Provides youth supervision, individual and group counseling, and support services for youth. BA degree from four year college or university or one to two years related experience or training and experience working with adolescents preferred. Salary is $11.50/hour.
